Aate ka halwa or Kadha prasad

Ingredients

Take a deep heavy bottom pan & add ghee. Put whole wheat flour in it.

Now roast flour on a medium-low-medium flame until it gets light brown.

On the other side take water in a pan & boil it.

Keep stirring flour continuously and you will start getting aroma of roasted wheat flour.

After roasting for 8-10 mins flour start getting golden brown or light brown.

Other side increase the flame to boil the water.

Now add sugar in flour & mix it while stirring for a min or two.

When sugar is properly mixed then add boiling water to the flour mixture.

Now with all your hand force mix water with flour. stir fast so that no lumps are created.

Keep stirring continuously add little more water if required.

Because wheat flour absorb water quickly so you need to stir it fast to mix water, sugar & flour properly.

Halwa can look lumpy initially but once you keep stirring it for a while it will turn thick & soft.

After stirring for a min halwa leave the sides & form like a ball.

If sugar sugar crystal are still visible then add a little more hot water then keep mixing again.

Doing this will dissolve sugar crystals.

Now serve hot in a bowl & garnish it with nuts like almonds, cashews & pistachios.

Kadha prasad is also made in the same way as mentioned above. only the ratio between flour, ghee & sugar needs to be same. and add a little more water, So that when you stir Halwa it should boil in a semi liquid form. when you keep stirring it , it starts getting solid.

If you want to skip sugar then this Halwa can be made with Jaggery too.. you only need to soak jaggery before an hour. Then sieve it & boil before putting into whole wheat flour.

Serve it hot or warm. Even if you are refrigerating it then microwave for a min to make little warm. Because it taste best when hot.
